These boys' album, Celebration, was one of my favorites of last year. They do some classic garage-punk, but they also strip it down a little bit for my fav song, "2012 Blues." "Snake in the Grass," on the other hand, has a great sort of self-righteous swagger that I dig. And that refrain at the song's end is like something the Thermals would do. But less snide. The singer's yelpy, childish voice might put some people off at first, but don't let it. The tunes carry echoes of Wire, but more jangly and poppy, and with some better calls and responses.
