Skygreen Leopards
Skygreen Leopards' first album was called Disciples of California and the membership includes a founder or two of the Bay Area's Jewelled Antler Collective. From that and the above photo, you probably have a pretty good idea of what they sound like: mellow strumming, occasional slide guitar, pleasant melodies. These guys are perfectly fine and charming, but the songs have the ability to be a little too bland to get stuck in my head all day. That's fine, though, because when you remember that they exist and you play the record it's always a pleasant surprise. Their new album, Gorgeous Johnny, is out now on Jagjaguwar.
